is adding a
Psychiatrist
to the Emergency Department at
NYC Health + Hospitals – Lincoln . Lincoln is a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award-winning Cancer and Breast Centers. The Department of Psychiatry provides care and services to one of the most diverse populations in New York. The Department has 60 acute inpatient beds, a busy Psychiatry ED, a Mobile Crisis Team, a Consultation-Liaison Service, and a large ambulatory platform serving adults and children. It also offers on-site school-based services to multiple Bronx sites. Lincoln provides state‑of‑the‑art Substance Use treatment services across all care settings, including consultation, medication‑assisted therapies and ongoing modalities through the Lincoln Recovery Center. The hospital has a growing psychiatry residency program and maintains a strong academic affiliation with Weill Medical College of Cornell University to continue its high standards of healthcare delivery, and to provide its staff with teaching and research opportunities. Attending staff are eligible to apply for academic appointments with Weill Cornell Department of Psychiatry. Responsible for the provision of compassionate and evidence-based direct care to patients in PES (Psychiatric Emergency Services). Supervises residents, students, social workers, nurses, and other team members involved in the clinical care of patients in PES. Completes comprehensive and ongoing mental health assessments, formulating treatment plans, initiating treatment, and managing psychiatric and medical issues of all patients. Provides sound judgment with regard to disposition planning. Conducts morning and evening rounds and provides clinical teaching. Oversees patient flow issues, managing the whiteboard and assigning cases to be seen. Management of inter-disciplinary team issues that affect clinical care of patients. Documents incidents in conjunction with nursing. In addition to covering PES, attending psychiatrists are responsible for coverage of consults on other inpatient services. Seniority Level
