The Senior Research Analyst will serve as a lead or co‑lead on a variety of qualitative and quantitative public opinion research projects, working in close partnership with firm principals, clients and vendors. This position is designed for an experienced professional who can manage projects from proposal through presentation—balancing strategic insight with operational excellence and data‑driven storytelling. Day‑to‑day responsibilities will include leading survey and focus groups design, managing fieldwork and data‑processing, ensuring rigorous quality control, conducting statistical and message‑based analysis, preparing client‑ready memos and presentations, and directly presenting findings and strategic recommendations to clients.

As a small, collaborative firm, we expect all team members to be hands on, but this role carries a clear leadership component. The Senior Research Analyst will play a central role in client communication, internal project management, and operational oversight of the firm’s research pipeline. They will also contribute to mentoring junior staff, developing new methodologies and workflows and advancing our firm’s overall research strategy. This is an interdisciplinary position blending political communication, data analytics, survey science, and modern political strategy. It requires intellectual curiosity, impeccable attention to detail, clear and persuasive writing and presentation skills and a deep commitment to Democratic and progressive causes.

Key Responsibilities

Co‑lead research projects alongside firm principals, managing all phases from design through analysis and delivery

Draft and refine proposals, research designs, survey questionnaires, and qualitative moderator guides

Oversee data collection, processing and weighting, ensuring accuracy, quality and timeliness

Analyze survey and qualitative data, identifying key trends, strategic implications, and actionable recommendations

Prepare and deliver client‑facing memos, topline reports, decks and presentations

Maintain direct communications with clients to provide updates, guide strategic conversations and field methodological questions

Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns, fostering skill development and consistency in quality control

Help manage day‑to‑day firm operations, including vendor coordination, scheduling, and workflow management

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of professional experience in public opinion research, political consulting, campaigns or progressive advocacy, or some mix thereof

Proven ability to lead or manage complex projects

Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting findings to clients, speaking extemporaneously, and synthesizing data into actionable insights

Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and methodological rigor

Analytical and curious disposition

High proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word), Google Workspace, Zoom and familiarity with AI tools

Experience with SPSS, R or other data analysis tools is a plus

Deep commitment to Democratic and progressive values and enthusiasm for high stakes political research

A collaborative, team‑first approach and willingness to pitch in on all aspects of firm operations when needed
