Tax Director Responsibilities
Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with clients ranging from middle market to multinational.
Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client.
Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, credits and incentives.
Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
Network and build strong relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
Invest in professional development through firm‑wide learning and development programs.
Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar business degree; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
CPA or JD required.
Eight (8) or more years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
Five (5) or more years’ supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management and communication skills.
Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of projects.
Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
Compensation The compensation range for this role is $191,260 to $362,600. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
