Hourly pay range: $44.00 – $50.00 per hour.
Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Key Purpose
The Building Engineer reports directly to the Site Operations Manager to ensure all facility‑related equipment is maintained to the highest standards in the Hard Services line. The Building Engineer partners with the Site Operations Supervisor and the Hard Service team to promote collective success across all service lines and embodies the OneISS methodology of facility operations.
Core functions involve solving complex integrated maintenance and repair of a building’s shell, core, and equipment, driving optimization and maintenance to keep facilities safe and operational, executing preventative and reactive maintenance programs, and resolving immediate operational and safety concerns.
The Building Engineer utilizes advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds, monitoring system operations and performing trade tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, refrigeration, HVAC and grounds maintenance. They are the client point of contact and must respond to escalations professionally.
Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
Support the Technical Services Team and report to the Site Operations Manager
Communicate effectively with colleagues within the Business Unit and across the company; disseminate information, participate in project groups and meetings as required
Ideal Candidate Experience
5+ years in Operations & Maintenance, Construction, Facilities Maintenance or Building Engineering
High school diploma or vocational/trade school or college required
EPA Universal/608 Certification
Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and time management within CMMS
Experience with subcontractor and vendor contract management
Experience managing KPIs per Site Operations Manager
Proficiency with specialty hand tools, diagnostic tools and maintenance shop practices at Journeyman level (Electrical and Mechanical Equipment systems)
Basic computer proficiency: Word, Outlook, CMMS, Smartphone
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key Accountabilities
Inspection, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, control and HVAC systems
Refrigerant handling for HVAC repairs
Minor electrical tasks (bulb replacement, ballast replacement, troubleshooting)
Plumbing fixture/drain repair and maintenance
Inspection and preventive maintenance of café/kitchen equipment
Maintenance of elevators, fire life safety systems and UPS
Access, door and overhead door repair/adjustment
Accuracy of CMMS data for assets and maintenance programs
Inspection and diagnosis using blueprints, OEM manuals, parts catalogs
Coordinate contractors and vendors: ensure safe site access, escort, safety debriefs
Provide data for reports, equipment evaluations, scope of work for vendors
Direct operational modifications (switching, lockout/tagout) and safe work area setup for subcontractors
Follow 5S principles for client spaces and storage areas
Order supplies for PM and RM; manage tool crib inventory for SLA uptime
Obtain and compare vendor estimates
Adjust doors, closers, repair T‑bar drop ceiling grid, replace tiles
Perform visual roof inspections and minor repairs
General maintenance tech duties as assigned by Site Operations Management
On call 1st line support for escalations or emergencies per schedule
Handle customer complaints professionally and timely
Comply with ISS and client EHS requirements
Valid state driver’s license; travel within metropolitan region as mobile engineer
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Lift, carry, set down 50 lbs
Work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
Bend or stoop frequently
Work at heights on mobile or stationary platforms
