Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk - Embassy Suites Denver Downtown

Responsibilities
Bill and collect all revenue owed to the hotel accurately and timely in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
Sort and verify the accuracy of Night Audit work (primarily receivables), including reconciliation of banquet check extensions, coding of banquets at cost, and the review and routing of sales and promotion checks with backup.
Record department administration phone calls and inform the Assistant Controller of any potential concerns.
Post city ledger payments in the PMS system, reconcile, and bill all city ledger accounts.
Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation and inform the Assistant Controller of any potential uncollectible accounts.
Reconcile credit card backup to the General Cashier Summary, inform the Assistant Controller of any discrepancies, bill out credit cards (AMEX, DINERS, etc.) and maintain accurate and legible logs for all credit cards.
Set up new accounts in accordance with the established credit policy, assist in reconciling open account status items, input the General Cashier Summary and maintain binder files, distribute credit card cancellations, bulletins, and credit warnings, process and follow up on all returned checks accepted as a cash payment, and record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
Education / Formal Training High school education or equivalent experience.
Experience Accounting background preferred, but not required.
Knowledge / Skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to compile facts and figures.
Proficiency operating a personal computer and calculator.
Telephone etiquette skills.
