The Senior Scheduling Coordinator will communicate regularly with physicians, patients, ancillary, and surgical areas to include scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of tests and procedures. Qualifications
Education/Training:
High school diploma and training in medical terminology and/or basic anatomy required. An associate’s degree in Business, Information Systems, a clinical field, or related may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience. Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in clinical registration and scheduling. An associate degree in Business, Information Systems, a clinical field, or related may substitute for two years of experience. Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining appropriate departmental schedules. May provide feedback to management for human resources functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling. Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient demographic information, insurance verification/authorization, and scheduling details. Communicates prep instructions, arrival time, and location to patients. Manages charge processes daily, including scheduling and canceling multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures. Understands Orlando Health’s commitment to exemplary customer service with a Patient First Philosophy. Reviews schedules daily and communicates changes to staff. Knowledge of computer applications, multi-line telephone systems, printers, copiers, and fax machines. Acts as a liaison to clinical and business staff to ensure effective patient management. Assists in training or mentoring team members. Provides accurate scheduling information to expedite patient preparation, arrival location, and time. Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with policies and standards, including ADA, FMLA, and other regulations. Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
