Travel Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • Work 12-hour day/night variable shifts in a fast-paced intermediate care unit • Guaranteed 36 hours per week over 13-week contract • Every other weekend and every other holiday requirements • Patient ratio of 4:1 with primary patients including insulin drips • Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units • Must be outside a 50-mile radius of facility to be eligible • Minimum 2+ years nursing experience required with stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience required • At least 1 prior travel experience required • ICU experience and Trauma Level II experience preferred • Ventilator/Trach experience required • Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS • EPIC charting experience preferred • Care for patients with heavy telemetry monitoring, stable weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke • Must be able to work independently, manage change well, and complete tasks timely • Scrub colors: any color acceptable • Associate degree or certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred • Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call back pay Facility: This healthcare organization operates a 36-bed medical surgical intermediate care unit specializing in complex patient care. The facility maintains Trauma Level II designation and utilizes EPIC charting systems. The intermediate care unit focuses on patients requiring heavy telemetry monitoring and advanced care including ventilator weaning, trauma recovery, and various specialized treatments, providing a challenging and dynamic work environment for experienced nurses. Location: Wausau, WI Wausau offers an excellent blend of urban amenities and outdoor recreation opportunities in central Wisconsin, surrounded by beautiful forests, lakes, and the Wisconsin River.
