Job Description This is a supervisory position that plans, produces, and delivers television content from concept through final delivery. Supervisory responsibilities are project based and delegated. The position leads day-to-day production for assigned programs and specials, ensuring creative excellence, schedule adherence, and compliance with broadcast and legal standards. The role collaborates closely with the Creative Director, Technical Production Manager, and Postproduction Supervisor.

Lead and enact end-to-end production: research, budgeting, scheduling, scripting, pre-production, field/studio production, and post-production.

Produce and direct documentaries, public affairs, travel and food series, live event coverage, and studio programs.

Serve as primary point for assigned projects by establishing timelines, managing resources, tracking costs, and delivering on time and within approved budgets.

Execute visual quality standards in field directing, shooting, and editing; apply lighting principles in studio and remote environments.

Ensure rights clearances, releases, and documentation are complete and retained.

Provide day-to-day guidance to producers/associate producers and coordinate with technical and postproduction leads.

What You'll Need To Be Successful

Demonstrated proficiency in producing, directing, videography, and non-linear editing.

Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently with urgency and follow-through.

Strong interpersonal and written communications and written skills.

Working knowledge of lighting, audio, and motion graphics fundamentals; ability to maintain visual standards.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro Photoshop and Aftereffects, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Commitment to MPB’s public media mission and storytelling about Mississippi’s people, places, and culture.

This position will require in-state travel and ability to work outdoors. Weekend and holiday work may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.

Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-6 years of experience. Agency Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8+) years of experience; Supervisory experience in public broadcasting or mission-driven, noncommercial media environments.
