Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. The hospital provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and family support services to the residents of Central Harlem, West Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood.

Harlem is the largest hospital in the area, capable of treating the most seriously ill. Harlem provides over 90 specialized ambulatory care services, dentistry and oral surgery, behavioral health services, and community substance abuse treatment.

Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position:

Under administrative control, plans, coordinates, administers, directs and evaluates the activities of a funded non‑capital project or series of projects sponsored by a public or private agency. Facilitates overall progress of the project and ensures the timely completion of the project deliverables. Ensures optimal utilization of resources and compliance with required policies, procedures, and other standards through management of scheduling, budgetary constraints, program objectives, dependencies and other concerns.

Examples Of Typical Tasks

Defines project scope, objectives and milestones, outlines major deliverables and establishes implementation schedules for assigned projects.

Considers available resources and constraints, policy issues, contractual commitments and program audits in development of project plan and implementation strategies in collaboration with funding agency officials consistent with the System’s mission, values and business goals.

Formulates policy and procedural guidelines, consistent with NYC Health + Hospitals policies and procedures, to facilitate the successful, timely, and efficient completion of projects.

Defines and assigns responsibilities to staff and other project resources. Anticipates and identifies issues, constraints and other potential hindrances, implementing control measures, solutions and alternative courses of action to resolve emergent problems or critical situations.

Develops and maintains templates and tools to track project progress, to facilitate collection of project information, and to manage dissemination of information and updates related to project status.

Monitors progress of project and status of deliverables against project plans and timelines, evaluating quality, and timeliness of completion.

Prepares budget estimates and controls to ensure that project expenses are effectively managed within budgetary constraints.

Lead, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with project participants and resources and facilitate required meetings, calls and updates. May convene advisory committees if required by terms of funding provisions and provides technical assistance to them.

Submits periodic progress and activity reports to funding agency officials and/or H+H management through designated channels, and in appropriate timeframes.

Prepares final reports and recommendations on project studies performed and revises programmatic content as necessary.

Serves as representative for funded projects, and as liaison with appropriate Hospital and Central Office grants, contract personnel and funding sources.

Performs related duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications Educational and/or experience requirements will vary depending on the content, complexity and variety of project. Compensation levels will correspond to the requirements developed for the designated project.

In No Event Will The Acceptable Minimum Be Below:

A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in a specialization discipline consistent with project content; and,

Four years of substitutable and relevant health care experience related to the objectives of the project; or,

A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, training and education.
