As a member of Store Leadership, the Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific store area, general store operations and supervision when acting as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening and closing the store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly environment, ensuring merchandise presentation and executing company operational processes. Essential Functions
Safety and Security
Prioritizes safety, maintaining high awareness on the sales floor and reporting unsafe conditions. Secures building entrance/exit, monitors EAS devices, cash office, armored carrier pick‑ups and register area. Maintains clear egress, tests fire alarm systems and responds to after‑hours alarms when requested. Customer Service
Treats all customers, associates and leaders with respect. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness and professionalism, recognising associates through company recognition programs. Store Brand and Presentation
Represents and supports the company brand, ensuring professional appearance and dress code compliance. Maintains clean, well‑maintained and merchandised areas, performing daily trash removal. General Merchandising
Ensures recovery, sizing and markdowns per company standards. Receives merchandise truck and non‑merchandise deliveries, cleans and organizes stockrooms. Delivers and places merchandise on the sales floor, securing back‑stock and performing floor moves and signing. Loss Prevention
Complies with Loss Prevention Awareness Program, maintaining customer service presence and heightened awareness. Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information and merchandise. Maintains Public View Monitor system and conducts package inspections. Front End Operations
Maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and extra touches, ensuring associates meet company standards. Maintains pace, energy and presence at the front end, managing line to reduce wait time. Trains associates on cash registers, shortage control policies and other front end procedures. Controls associate break schedule, equipment checks and supply maintenance. Fitting Room Maintenance
Maintains cleanliness and audits fitting room garment tags per company policy. Ensures go‑back compliance, returning merchandise to the sales floor with required tagging and scanning. Administrative Duties
Conducts cash pulls and bank deposits per company policy and controls front end when needed. Administers payroll related tasks including punch edits, scheduling compliance, payroll transmission and reporting. Completes other duties as assigned by the store manager. Competencies

Excellent verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements
Use store equipment – PDTs, registers, PCs. Stand, walk and move around store up to 100 % of working time. Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop. Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs. Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies. Stockroom associates push, pull and lift more than 20 lbs. Disclaimer
