Materials Manager

to lead materials, logistics, and supply chain operations at our automotive manufacturing facility in Warren, MI. This role is responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of raw materials and finished goods, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and coordinating all material flow to support efficient, uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate brings a hands‑on leadership approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery performance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of materials flow, including purchasing, inventory control, production scheduling, and logistics. Oversee the on‑time acquisition and delivery of raw materials and finished products to meet production and shipping targets. Develop and implement efficient materials management systems and procedures to optimize supply chain performance. Direct the preparation and issuance of purchase orders, change notices, and procurement documentation. Evaluate market and delivery conditions to ensure availability and cost‑effective procurement of materials. Establish and maintain procedures for supplier management, ensuring on‑time delivery and continuous improvement in supplier performance. Implement and manage visual inventory management systems to maintain organization and accountability on the production floor. Monitor inventory budgets and establish acceptable inventory levels to support business objectives. Coordinate engineering and product changes to ensure seamless transition and minimal production disruption. Support vendor quality assurance initiatives and collaborate on the resolution of substandard or rejected materials. Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and corporate policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering preferred) Extensive experience in automotive manufacturing environments Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proven results in supply chain optimization, cost reduction, and supplier development Excellent problem‑solving and analytical capabilities Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines If you have a proven track record in automotive materials management and are ready to take ownership of supply chain performance in a high‑impact leadership role, we want to hear from you.
