The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted partner to associates and leadership across multiple states, providing onsite support in all areas of Human Resources within a manufacturing facility. This position provides support in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, FMLA, workers compensation and HR administration. This position is key to fostering a positive workplace culture through effective employee relations, conflict resolution, and leadership support.
Working closely with the HR team, this role handles the day-to-day HR functions including benefits administration, leaves of absence, performance management, and policy compliance. The successful candidate will regularly collaborate with leaders and associates on complex workplace matters including disciplinary actions, conflict mediation, and terminations, while also participating in talent acquisition and interviews.
This is an onsite role embedded in both office and manufacturing environments, requiring a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and a proactive, associate-first mindset.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Serve as the primary resource for leaders and associates regarding workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
Coach managers on handling performance issues, documentation, and corrective action processes in line with company policies and employment laws.
Participate in disciplinary discussions, investigations, and terminations, ensuring consistent, respectful, and compliant handling of all cases.
Support leaders during associate performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and team development planning.
Attend and actively participate in associate interviews, providing guidance on candidate selection, behavioral questions, and interview consistency.
Help develop and reinforce HR best practices and company culture through daily interactions with associates and leadership.
Leave & Compliance Management
Administer FMLA, short-term disability, ADA accommodations, and other leave programs, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
Monitor compliance with employment regulations across all operating states.
Maintain documentation for associate relations, benefits, leave, and investigations in accordance with HR best practices and legal standards.
General HR Operations
Support the onboarding process, new hire orientation, and associate recognition initiatives.
Collaborate with HR Leadership on strategic initiatives and process improvements.
Utilize HR systems such as UKG and reporting tools like Power BI to analyze trends and guide decision-making.
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards in handling sensitive associate and company information.
Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Education, Work Experience, and Proficiencies Education:
Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on employee relations and performance management.
Experience supporting both office and manufacturing environments is preferred.
Prior exposure to self-insured health plans, JP Farley, UKG (UltiPro) is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills:
Deep understanding of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation and employee relations.
Ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and guide leaders at all levels.
High emotional intelligence, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
