What will the Commercial Loan Officer do? Develop and maintain profitable relationships with commercial clients, including business owners, developers, and real estate investors
Actively prospect and network to generate new business opportunities and referrals
Interview clients, assess creditworthiness, and structure loan proposals in alignment with bank policy
Collaborate with credit analysts to prepare loan offering memorandums and support underwriting
Present loan requests to appropriate approval authorities and manage the full loan lifecycle
Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure credit quality and recommend risk rating changes as needed
Partner with internal teams to cross-sell banking products and services, including cash and wealth management
Oversee loan documentation, attend closings, and ensure all post-closing requirements are met
Participate in underwriting discussions with senior credit leadership
Stay current on compliance training and digital banking tools
What the company needs in a Commercial Loan Officer: Proven experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, and relationship management
Strong knowledge of loan structuring, underwriting, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Familiarity with digital tools and a willingness to embrace new technologies
Bonus Points: Experience in eastern Connecticut markets
Background in real estate or business banking
Demonstrated success in portfolio growth and risk management
