Design Engineer – Systems Innovation
Location : Orlando, FL.
Schedule : Full-Time.
Position : Design Engineer – Systems Innovation.
Pay Range : $80,055/yr – $96,452/yr.

We’re seeking a
Design Engineer
with strong AV integration experience and technical expertise to guide projects from concept through deployment. This role serves as a key technical resource, producing design documentation, supporting field execution, and ensuring systems meet both client expectations and project requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing As a Design Engineer, you’ll collaborate across teams and with clients to translate project scopes into detailed technical designs. You’ll create documentation, participate in design meetings, and provide ongoing support throughout deployment and commissioning.
Core Responsibilities
Review scopes of work and discovery materials to define system requirements and equipment needs.
Participate in internal and external design meetings; liaise with clients, vendors, and construction partners.
Generate detailed system documentation, including schematics, facility impacts, bill of materials, wire lists, cable schedules, and network planning documents.
Develop mounting details, fabrication drawings, and cable specifications as required.
Provide technical support throughout design development, installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
Skills And Knowledge
Proficiency in AutoCAD; ability to create schematic line drawings and facility impact packages preferred.
Ability to develop accurate bills of materials, including all equipment and peripherals required for integration.
Multidisciplinary AV knowledge across video, audio, lighting, LED, networking, and control systems.
Experience designing solutions for diverse environments such as higher education, collaboration systems, broadcast facilities, production/event spaces, stadiums, and experiential venues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with vendors, subject‑matter experts, and fellow engineers.
What You Bring To The Table
Minimum 3 years of experience in AV integration engineering.
Proficiency in networking topology planning, VLANs, AV‑over‑IP, and unicast/multicast workflows.
AVIXA CTS or CTS‑D certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple AV disciplines.
Strong documentation habits and attention to technical detail.
