Join UAB Medicine as an RN Assistant Nurse Manager in our Vascular Surgery unit, working the 7 p.m.‑7 a.m. PM shift.
Position Overview
Pay range: $36.80 – $53.00 / hour
Shift: full‑time PM
Schedules: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Job Description To work with nursing leadership to direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for the duration of one shift and/or in the absence of the Nurse Manager. To provide professional nursing care for patients in assigned care unit. To support nursing leadership in the coordination of patient care, personnel management, physician/interdisciplinary collaboration and general administrative duties.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Nursing and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA is required within six (6) months from date of hire to role.
Depending on the unit/department, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA, or other comparable certification as appropriate for the age of patients to be treated, may be required within six (6) months from date of hire to role.
If job is in a free‑standing emergency department (FSED) location, one (1) year of experience required must be emergency or ICU nursing experience.
