Job Description: The Waste Disposal Technician is responsible for the proper disposal of spent chemicals, process waste, and unused laboratory samples, and for safely transporting waste within the laboratory environment. The role involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, and moving around the lab. Responsibilities Proper disposal of samples according to guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the waste disposal room and loading dock. Use personal protective equipment at all times. Load and unload pallets, boxes, and materials. Assist with sample transfer between departments. Help Sample Custodian with sample location and return to cooler at proper storage (temperature 4 °C). Organize and clean coolers and waste disposal area. Remove and sort samples from coolers, assist with sample orders. Learn bottle types, sample test codes, and preservatives. Adhere to SOPs, QA Manual, and project requirements. Assist with other assigned projects as needed. Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ) High school diploma or GED. AA degree in life or physical science preferred. Current, valid driver’s license. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Detail oriented, flexible, dependable, team player. Good communication and organizational skills. Requirements Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Professional working proficiency in English. Employment type: Full‑time (Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑4:00 pm). Overtime as needed. Pay rate: $17‑18 /hr (range may vary with experience).
