Deputy General Counsel
to join its collegial, high-performing legal team in DC.
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Deputy GC plays a key role in delivering strategic and day-to-day legal support across the Company’s core operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the GC in managing insurance claims, coordinating with outside counsel, maintaining claims records, and overseeing reinsurer and auditor reviews
Oversee corporate and risk retention group filings; draft and review contracts and governance materials; and prepare Board and Committee memoranda and minutes
Lead the development of the Company’s publications and represent ICIM via conference presentations, panels, and the annual risk management conference
Advise underwriters on coverage questions and emerging risks and assist with policy endorsements and bond riders
Serve as EEOC Officer, represent legal on internal committees, and serve as the Company’s primary contact with industry associations (SFAA, NRRA)
Qualifications
15+ years’ experience in U.S. securities laws involving investment management regulation and compliance
Exposure to insurance law and/or reinsurance issues is ideal
Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively across departments
Prior supervisory experience is a plus
