Advance Practice Provider (NP or PA) – Hematology Oncology
LCMC Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team. The role involves providing advanced health care to patients in inpatient settings, including assessment, clinical interventions, care‑plan management, education, and quality improvement.
General Duties
Assessment: Evaluate complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions, using relevant data to determine physiologic instability and formulate a plan of care.
Clinical Interventions: Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, following the Scope of Practice and credentialing/privileging process.
Plan of Care: Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation based on patient response, focusing on optimizing outcomes and incorporating health promotion and injury prevention.
Education: Serve as an educational resource to patients/family, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary care team; act as a consultant to team members.
Professional Development: Participate in scholarly activities, maintain required competencies, identify learning needs, and serve as a preceptor/mentor for nurses, APPs, students, and other providers.
Patient Safety & Quality: Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues, sharing errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms, and enhancing safe practice.
Education & Qualifications
Master’s degree from an approved Nurse Practitioner program – required.
Licenses & Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
Nurse Practitioner Certification
Registered Nursing License (RN) – Louisiana State Board of Nursing
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Louisiana State Board of Nursing
Skills & Abilities

Computer Software Skills
ICD‑10 and CPT‑4: Working knowledge
