Overview
Dreams for Change oversights San Diego’s safe sleep site, sheltering and supporting those experiencing homelessness. Volunteers assist staff by setting up, serving, and cleaning up meals for participants. Key Responsibilities
Set up the meal event Serve meals to participants Clean up after the meal event Skills & Qualifications
No prior experience needed Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for prolonged periods No food allergies (must not have food allergies due to proximity to food items) Must be an adult (no minors allowed) Training Provided
On‑site training is provided at the beginning of the shift. Attire & Sun Protection
Comfortable clothing and closed‑toe shoes. Wear sunscreen, a hat, and other sun protection. What to Bring
Water bottle Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing, lifting of 20 lbs, no food allergies. The space is wheelchair accessible, but we do not accommodate individuals with physical limitations. Weather
Meals are provided every day, rain or shine. This opportunity is not canceled in the event of inclement weather. Photo Policy
No photos or recordings can be taken on site. Legal & Verification
Clearing a Megan’s Law California Sex Offender search before your first shift is required. Download the HandsOn Connect app, electronically sign the waiver, and check in at this volunteer opportunity. Hours will not be verified without app sign‑in. Registration Status
