Position Summary
Harness is an engineering-driven company built to solve complex, real-world challenges in software delivery, reliability, and cloud infrastructure. This Principal Product Manager role sits at the intersection of Cloud Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure Product Management—driving initiatives that enhance our Self-Managed Platform (SMP), achieve and maintain FedRAMP and FIPS compliance, and ensure the stability and scalability of our dedicated SaaS environments. What You’ll Do
Own the strategy and roadmap for the Self-Managed Platform (SMP), ensuring stability, scalability, and security for on-prem and regulated customers. Collaborate with Engineering to improve deployment workflows and customer adoption. Lead FedRAMP authorization and FIPS 140-2 certification efforts in partnership with Security, Legal, and Compliance. Oversee the development and validation of FIPS-compliant images for the Delegate and SMP. Support a dedicated SaaS offering—managing deployments, monitoring, and operational reliability. Drive continuous improvement in platform performance, scalability, and resilience, ensuring uptime and SLA compliance. Work cross-functionally to design architectures that scale with user and data growth. About You
12+ years in product management for enterprise software or SaaS; 4+ years in infrastructure or platform products. Proven success owning strategy and roadmap for cloud or self-managed platforms in DevOps, CI/CD, or security domains. Deep understanding of distributed systems, deployment architectures, and infrastructure scalability. Hands‑on experience with FedRAMP and FIPS compliance, audits, and cryptographic standards. Strong collaborator with Security, Legal, and Engineering to deliver compliant and secure platforms. Exceptional communicator and influencer across executive, engineering, and customer audiences. Operates with urgency and sound judgment, balancing customer needs, compliance, and business goals. Data‑driven decision maker with strong business acumen; evaluates build vs. buy tradeoffs effectively. Mentors and develops peers; drives process improvement and cross‑team efficiency in R&D.
