Portfolio Analyst Provides analysis support of portfolio programs, projects, and requests. Works with portfolio managers in all aspects of documenting project ideas, developing business case analyses for those ideas, prioritizing project ideas for approval, and monitoring approved projects. Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to: developing, managing, and maintaining portfolio management methodology and processes; supporting training and use of portfolio and project management tools; assisting the Project Review Committee; and drafting correspondence, documents, and minutes.

Essential Functions

Portfolio Analysis and Monitoring: Assist with setting standards, monitoring, and maintaining project portfolios to achieve benefits and align with strategic goals. Prepare portfolio analyses and status reports; collect and consolidate project information; report on portfolio goals, progress, and status.

Portfolio Management Business Analysis: Assist with planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects; identify, analyze, prioritize initiatives; manage shared resources and interdependencies; create and manage portfolio documentation, metrics, budgets, and schedules.

Portfolio Management Methodology: Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring the portfolio management methodology, ensuring rigorous execution and monitoring.

Portfolio Assistance: Perform high‑level administrative functions such as scheduling meetings, creating minutes, presentations, and correspondence; support collaboration sites and project file maintenance.

Portfolio Management Technology: Analyze portfolio software and tools; gather requirements, configure, test, implement changes, and train users; maintain reports and training materials.

Workload Management: Assist with capacity and workload management, training users, monitoring, and reporting compliance.

Emergency Response: Participate in company emergency response activities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Knowledge of project management standards and methodologies (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing), work breakdown structures, risk assessment, and project management software tools.

CAPM certification or equivalent (or currently earning within 12 months).

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent training with 4 years of related work experience).

Working knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Skills Requirements

Experience with PMI PMBOK and project management tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).

Experience Requirements

3 years of progressively greater professional work experience for Portfolio Analyst.

5 years of progressively greater work experience, including at least 1 year of project/portfolio professional experience for Senior Portfolio Analyst.

Senior Portfolio Analyst Provides in‑depth analysis of portfolio programs, projects, and requests. Works with portfolio managers and corporate management on documentation, business case development, prioritization, monitoring, and performance assessment. Responsibilities mirror those of the Portfolio Analyst but with deeper focus on strategy, alignment, and higher complexity projects.

Hiring Range Portfolio Analyst: $71,100.00 – $88,800.00 Senior Portfolio Analyst: $87,400.00 – $111,500.00
