Lead, coach, grow, and support DevOps engineers

Team intro As a Senior DevOps Manager at SmartBear, you will lead, coach, grow and support a geographically distributed team of DevOps engineers across our robust portfolio of test management products. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to lead a highly skilled team and make a lasting impact by driving technical and process improvements to some of SmartBear’s most visible products. You will work collaboratively with PMs, Support, Developers, and peer engineering teams to drive business outcomes for SmartBear.
About the Role As a Senior Manager of DevOps, you will:
Manage a team of 10 DevOps engineers spread across several continents to optimize quality and velocity of operations
Leverage agile best practices to manage the delivery of software through continuous deployment
Coach your engineers to reach their full potential, and encourage team leadership by empowering senior engineers
Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables while managing external expectations
Cultivate a culture of curiosity, ingenuity, partnership, speed, innovation, and excellence
Plan, document, and manage major cloud infrastructure projects
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure priorities are set based on business outcomes and cost-effectiveness
Manage on-call and off-hours scheduling and be available for occasional escalations
Our qualifications preference
7+ years leading Cloud / DevOps teams
BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
English at least on B2 Level
Knowledge and experience with public and private cloud technologies, preferably AWS
Experience with agile software development methodologies
Ability to turn high level requirements into actionable plans with projected target dates
Experience working in a global environment and managing multi-site teams preferred
Ability to coach engineers across all seniority levels, with demonstrated history of growth/promotion among coached team members
