Senior Network Engineer
to design, implement, and optimize SD-WAN solutions in support of maritime operations. This position requires an
Active Secret Security Clearance
and offers the opportunity to work on mission‑critical projects across multiple U.S. locations.
Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer include:
Design, plan, and deploy SD‑WAN architectures for cutters, ensuring secure and resilient connectivity.
Execute Proof of Concept (POC), configure SD‑WAN controllers (Manager, Controller, Validator) and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Virtual (FTDv).
Lead pilot deployments on up to nine cutters at locations including Charleston, SC; Portsmouth, VA; Kodiak, AK, and others.
Configure and optimize Cisco 4331 and C8300 routers, including memory upgrades, firmware updates, and FTDv integration.
Implement end‑to‑end encryption, firewall policies, and network segmentation aligned with DoD security standards; support ATO documentation.
Monitor SD‑WAN performance, provide advanced troubleshooting for connectivity, performance, and security issues to minimize downtime.
Develop comprehensive documentation and conduct training for staff to ensure post‑deployment self‑sufficiency.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and client/government stakeholders to meet operational requirements and project milestones.
Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
7+ years of network engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on Cisco SD‑WAN design and deployment.
Expertise in Cisco SD‑WAN technologies, routing protocols (OMP, OSPF, BGP), VPNs, and QoS.
Proficiency with Cisco 4331/C8300 routers, UCS servers, and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
Familiarity with DoD security standards, ATO processes, and FedRAMP compliance.
IAT Level III Certification required.
Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Experience with network automation tools (Python, Ansible) and cloud integration (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:
Salary Range: approx. $55.00 - $70.00 hourly, commensurate with experience.
