Role: Development Specialist or Development Analyst – Enterprise SAP (Professional). One vacancy located in Honolulu – Oahu (Req ID 10127). Hiring range: $87,400–$111,500. The selected candidate will be placed according to skills and qualifications. Job Function
Working independently and as part of a team to analyze, program, test, troubleshoot, document, implement, and support SAP and SAP‑related information systems to meet company and customer requirements within budget and time constraints. Provides second‑level help desk functions as needed. Essential Functions
Program, adapt, test, troubleshoot, document, and implement SAP and SAP‑related information systems and/or applications to meet customer needs (new or modifications). Provides second‑level technical support for the Help Desk. Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, Desktop Analysts, Database Administrators, Basis personnel, and IT Business Solutions Consultants to analyze system/customer requirements and design small to medium‑sized SAP and SAP‑related information systems or portions of large systems. Assist or train customers to make the best use of SAP and SAP‑related information systems. Assist in training newer programmers/analysts on tools and techniques employed by Hawaiian Electric. Remain on‑call/available for scheduled and unscheduled work, including outside normal business hours and on weekends. Participate in Company emergency response activities as assigned. Basic Qualifications – Knowledge Requirements
Principles of information and office technology management (college level or equivalent experience). Utility business, business, and/or engineering principles and practices (desired). Unix, client‑server/multi‑tier, and workstation/PC/Internet/Cloud/Mobile technologies and systems development. Application interfacing concepts, basic reporting and database development and support. Integrated test plan and user acceptance test plan execution. Status of tasks, defects, issues, and support requests maintained on a daily basis in an appropriate tool. Software installation, configuration, and administration. Basic Qualifications – Skills Requirements
Ability to design, code, test, troubleshoot, and implement programs, stored procedures, forms, reports, interfaces, workflows, batch jobs, etc. in ABAP, C#, HTML/5, Java, JavaScript, .NET, Node.js, Perl, PHP, PL/SQL, Python, Shell scripting, SQL, XML on Windows and Unix platforms. Knowledge/familiarity with SAP and related enterprise systems (CRM, IS‑U, Billing, Finance, Device Management, Bill Print, Meter Reading, IVR, Streamserve/Exstream, SuccessFactors, Fiori, Environmental Health and Safety Management, Materials Management, Ariba CLM, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, OpenText Document Management, Treasury, UIPlanner Budgeting, PowerPlant, Service and Asset Manager Mobile Application & Field Service Management, Process Integration/Process Orchestration, BTP, Cloud Connector, FSM Message Broker, Meter Data Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems, Outage Management System, Outage Map, Command Center, Energy Portal, Control‑M Job Scheduling, Monitoring & Managed File Transfers, Pager Duty, ServiceNow, etc. Experience performing SAP upgrades/rebuilds and system administration and support for supporting systems. Strong awareness of overall system needs such as performance management, capacity management, availability management. Project/program life‑cycle techniques (SDLC) in programming and/or analysis projects for both custom and vendor‑supplied software. Design/develop databases within scope of projects. Experience Requirements
2–3 years programming and software administrative experience or commensurate demonstration of requisite skills in a computing environment (Unix, client‑server, desktop/tablet). 1–2 years of analytical experience in simple to complex computer systems.
