We are seeking a visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our technology strategy and support our continued growth.

Job Summary:

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will serve as a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the company’s information technology (IT) strategy, infrastructure, and operations. The CIO will align technology initiatives with the diverse needs of our multiple business lines, ensuring seamless integration, operational efficiency, and innovation. As a key member of the leadership team, the CIO will champion digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data-driven decision‑making while fostering a culture of collaboration in our employee‑owned organization.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the goals of each business line and drives overall company success.

Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives and employee ownership values.

Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain competitive advantage.

Technology Infrastructure and Operations:

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, including enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.

Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of IT systems to support multiple business units with varying operational needs.

Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to optimize cost and performance.

Digital Transformation and Innovation:

Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and employee engagement.

Drive the adoption of advanced technologies such as AI, automation, and data analytics to support business growth.

Foster a culture of innovation by empowering employees to contribute ideas for technology‑driven solutions.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management:

Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive data across all business lines.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) relevant to each business unit.

Implement risk management strategies to mitigate IT‑related threats and ensure business continuity.

Team Leadership and Development:

Build and lead a high‑performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment aligned with employee ownership principles.

Mentor and develop IT staff to support professional growth and ensure expertise.

Promote cross‑functional collaboration between IT and other departments to support business objectives.

Data Strategy and Governance:

Oversee the development of a data strategy to enable data‑driven decision‑making across business units.

Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance.

Leverage analytics to provide actionable insights for business leaders and operational teams.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., CIO, VP of IT).

Proven experience managing IT operations for a multi‑business or multidivisional organization.

Skills and Competencies:

Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology with diverse business objectives.

Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Experience driving digital transformation and implementing innovative technology solutions.

Knowledge of data analytics, governance, and compliance requirements across business units.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, employee‑owned culture with a focus on shared success.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in manufacturing and distribution or in managing IT for diverse business lines.

Familiarity with employee‑owned business models and ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) structures.

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP and/or ITIL are a plus.
