Ad Platforms is responsible for Disney’s industry‑leading ad technology and products – driving advertising performance, innovation, and value across all media platforms.

We are looking for a motivated Data Analytics / Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Engineer to be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations in our Data & BI channel. The ideal candidate has experience operationalizing advertising data to resolve complex delivery issues and optimize the advertising pipeline, with proven leadership, urgency, and problem‑solving skills in high‑volume, production environments.

Responsibilities

Ensure monitoring and alerting on production services are in place, and assist in the resolution of production incidents.

Triage and troubleshoot operational issues, providing Tier 2/3 support.

Deliver on channel‑specific key performance metrics (KPM) to track channel health and growth.

Develop strong partnerships with ad sales, business intelligence, engineering, product management, and analytics leaders to focus on strategic and tactical objectives.

Maintain detailed operational documentation for internal and external consumption.

Suggest optimization and growth strategies, help manage key development milestones and deployments, and monitor effectiveness.

Analyze and communicate the impact of key strategy, market, or product changes.

Required Qualifications

3+ years in data analytics, BI, or data science – ideally in digital media or advertising.

Advanced SQL skills and experience with big‑data tools such as Snowflake, Presto, Spark, Datadog, and Athena.

Skilled at building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or JavaScript).

Hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow management.

Familiarity with BI platforms (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Databricks, Qlik).

Understanding of data observability tools (Datadog, Grafana).

Comfortable working with large datasets (terabytes+).

Agile development experience, including sprint planning in Jira.

Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams.

Able to explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Skilled in documentation and presentation tools (Confluence, PowerPoint, LucidChart).

Analytical thinker with a team‑first mindset and problem‑solving drive.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with digital advertising systems and ecosystems.

Experience managing financial systems or building financial reports.

Experience using data analytics to triage and troubleshoot advertising workflows.

Experience with network topologies, systems architecture overviews, and entity–relationship diagrams (ERD).

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Glendale, CA is $106,900 to $143,300 per year, and in New York City, NY and Seattle, WA is $112,000 to $150,100 per year. The base pay will be adjusted for internal equity and other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
