Position Overview
The Optometrist performs procedures using independent professional judgement in the practice of optometry and within the guidelines of the State of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry
Minnesota Optometric License
Minnesota Diagnostic and Therapeutic Drug License
BLS (basic life support) certification or certification within orientation period
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Experience performing pediatric eye exams, routine eye care, contact lens services, and management duties
Experience in pediatric ocular disease management and interpreting advanced technology
Proficient in the use and interpretation of standard ophthalmic equipment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
May include hospital consults in addition to ambulatory clinic operations
Exceptional professional skills focusing on patient care and collaboration
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Education focused and a creative problem-solver
Exceptionally strong primary and specialty care referral base within the care system
Fully integrated EMR (EPIC)
A qualified candidate will be a graduate of a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree program
Candidate must be licensed or have the ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Optometry licensure
DPA/TPA Certification
Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented and self-motivated

The full-time salary range is $120,000 - $150,000 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
