Overview Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Super Products LLC – Elkridge, Maryland. The Mechanic will perform service and repairs on truck-mounted vacuum equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Position Summary Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. The work related to the chassis is limited to performing routine PM inspections and requirements for fuels, fluids, and lubrication. Essential Functions Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Effectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air and water systems Conduct all repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment to a "Ready to Rent" status Performs and document "check in" and "check out" inspections of fleet equipment Maintain and organize shop and storage areas ensuring proper storage of flammable items Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possess solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment (preferred) Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics Ability to administer DOT inspections Basic computer skills Organized and able to multi-task Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Self-motivated, fully accountable, timely in all assignments Must own and supply a basic set of hand tools; company provides all large and specialized tools Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED Minimum three (3) years, verifiable experience as a mechanic Experience with truck-mounted vacuum equipment is preferred Working Conditions Operate all company-owned equipment and vehicles in a safe, lawful, and respectful manner Respectful shop environment May need to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand all day Frequently stoop, kneel and bend Transport trucks for fueling and tank wash as required Must travel as needed to facilitate service and repair activities in a timely manner Relocation Relocation not available for this position EEO and Benefits EOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled | Drug-Free Workplace.
