Physician – Vice Chair of Education (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
Position Overview The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a radiologist to join the Department of Radiology. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. We are actively seeking a Vice Chair of Education who is an inspiring and innovative educator, aware of the evolving needs of learners in an interdisciplinary environment, and who serves as a role model for lifelong learning. The Vice Chair provides educational and strategic leadership within the Department of Radiology, develops a leading educational program in Radiology at the organizational, regional, and national levels, and represents the Department’s education mission throughout the medical center.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive departmental vision and strategy in education that prioritizes needs, sets goals, and includes metrics for measuring success.
Introduce cutting‑edge methods for learners at all levels and cultivate a positive and energetic culture of learning throughout the department.
Develop a national network, present departmental successes and challenges at national meetings, and provide joint oversight of educational faculty leaders.
Oversee lecture series, symposia, and Grand Rounds; ensure compliance in all educational programs within the department.
Develop a strategy to expand fellowship programs, accommodate learner needs, and address the changing landscape in the radiology workforce.
Ensure effective communication with and involvement of all faculty and staff in key decisions and initiatives, and partner with other departmental leaders to integrate efficiencies.
Serve as the primary liaison in education between Department of Radiology leadership and College of Medicine leadership.
Requirements
MD, DO, or MD/PhD in imaging and/or imaging‑related fields.
Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).
Fellowship training in a subspecialty area.
Demonstrated significant scholarly activity with an established or developing national reputation in radiology education.
Ideally qualified for appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level; Assistant Professors with significant scholarly productivity will also be considered.
Demonstrated leadership skills desired.
Must support and embrace the culture of the department, the medical center, and the university.
