Job Overview

An established industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design, product development, and engineering support. The role is ideal for someone who excels in hands‑on design, enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, and has strong proficiency in Pro/ENGINEER (Creo). Candidates should have proven experience designing pneumatic systems, structural assemblies, and material‑handling equipment. Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and development of custom and standard industrial equipment such as hoppers, feeders, frames, and pneumatic conveying systems. Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Pro/ENGINEER (Creo). Work closely with cross‑functional teams—including manufacturing, electrical, and technical service—to ensure designs are manufacturable, functional, and cost‑effective. Support new product development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across existing equipment lines. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while contributing to design standards and best practices. Develop engineering documentation including BOMs, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions. Partner with fabrication, assembly, and field service groups to resolve technical issues and support design implementation. Ensure all designs meet mechanical, safety, and quality standards while balancing performance and cost. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 7–10 years of mechanical design experience, preferably with industrial or heavy‑duty equipment. Strong proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) for 3D modeling and drawing creation. Solid understanding of pneumatic systems, structural framing, sheet metal, and fabricated components. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to take ownership of designs from concept through production release. Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing equipment for plastics processing, material handling, or similar industrial applications. Background with hoppers, feeders, conveying systems, or blending equipment. Leadership or mentoring experience within an engineering or design team. Exposure to FEA analysis, DFMA principles, or cost‑reduction initiatives. Familiarity with industrial safety requirements and mechanical system compliance standards.
