Medication Technician - Overnight Job at Clearwater Living in Santa Ana

Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.00/hour (DOE) Schedule: Full-time Overnight 10:00pm-6:30am Responsibilities Assist residents with their daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned Observe, verify and document that medication is ingested or applied as directed Notify supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s) why Maintain clear, accurate, complete and confidential records on resident medication and care Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verifying dosages with physician prior to dispensing Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills - prepare medications for distribution up to 24 hours in advance Participate in and complete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shift, reporting any and all discrepancies to supervisor(s) immediately Assist caregivers in the performance of their job duties and assume caregiver activities and responsibilities when needed Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is being given to their residents Assist residents in their daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, bowel and bladder functions Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, and clearing trays Transport residents as necessary assisting them into and out of bed, wheelchairs, etc. following all safety/lifting and transferring techniques Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required A minimum of one year of work experience as a Caregiver or Medication Technician Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred Active First Aid/CPR/BLS Certification required Background clearances as required by government regulations Must meet health requirements, including TB Clearwater Living is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
