About the Role A great opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and ambitious Senior Transport Planner / Economist to join our Transport team and provide a major contribution in the successful delivery of safe, quality, sustainable and innovative solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will work on a broad cross section of infrastructure projects across several markets, including some of the most prestigious projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the appraisal of projects within multidisciplinary design teams and will take appropriate responsibility for the delivery and quality of the MCA elements.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in traffic forecasting and analysis, utilizing advanced methodologies to predict and manage traffic patterns effectively.

Conduct detailed analysis of transport data to inform planning and decision‑making.

Research and analyze data to identify transportation challenges and opportunities, develop transportation plans and policies, and evaluate the impact of proposed transportation projects.

Design transportation infrastructure such as roads, railways, and bike lanes.

Collaborate with engineers, urban planners, and policymakers to integrate transportation solutions with land‑use planning for sustainable development.

Provide technical oversight by reviewing and checking the work of junior team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Use transport modelling and analysis tools (advantage).

Analyze complex data sets to identify patterns and develop innovative solutions to transportation challenges, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Maintain clear communication with counterparts in lead and client offices, coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Mentor and guide staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

What do we need from you

Bachelor’s / master’s degree in Transportation engineering / planning or related.

5 to 10 years of experience and demonstrated experience in the Transport planning sector for large-scale infrastructure schemes and local authority schemes.

Chartered / Professional accreditation desirable, not mandatory.
