Full-Time Position Summary

The Facility Manager/Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of one Berkeley Charter Education Association (BCEA) campus. This position ensures the school’s facilities and grounds are well-maintained, secure, and conducive to a productive learning environment. Working under the direction of the Principal and Director of Facilities, the Facility Manager/Supervisor oversees custodial and maintenance staff, coordinates vendor services, and ensures compliance with all applicable safety and building codes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of all school buildings, grounds, and systems. Develop and implement campus-specific preventive and routine maintenance schedules. Supervise custodial and maintenance personnel; provide training, guidance, and performance feedback. Conduct regular building inspections to ensure compliance with safety codes, ADA requirements, OSHA standards, and other regulations. Monitor and maintain building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and security. Coordinate and supervise contracted services including landscaping, pest control, janitorial, and repair vendors. Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and safety concerns. Assist the Director of Facilities with budget tracking, cost estimates, and purchasing of materials and supplies. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules. Support the Principal and school staff with facility needs for daily operations, special events, and extracurricular activities. Ensure compliance with safety and emergency procedures; participate in school emergency response planning and drills. Promote energy-efficient and environmentally responsible practices on campus. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or trade certification preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in building or facilities maintenance, including supervisory or lead experience. Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and building safety regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or facilities management software (e.g., CMMS). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in K12 school facilities or similar institutional environments. OSHA 10 or 30 Certification. Basic knowledge of South Carolina public school facility codes and regulations. Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) credential. Competencies

Communication: Clearly conveys expectations, updates, and issues to school leadership and the Director of Facilities. Problem Solving: Identifies, assesses, and resolves facility issues in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ethical Practice: Upholds confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
