Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled EHS Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that will oversee all aspects of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program within the company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving continuous improvement in EHS performance, as well as a deep understanding of EHS regulations and standards. The EHS Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, and standards.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage the EHS management system.
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
Review existing policies and procedures and update as necessary to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
Oversee hazardous waste management, including proper disposal and record-keeping.
Lead safety training programs to educate employees about workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and accident prevention.
Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure safety regulations are met.
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and propose suitable solutions.
Oversee the application of ergonomic and industrial hygiene studies to provide a safe working environment.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the company fulfills all necessary permits and reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain a system for reporting, tracking, and analyzing key EHS performance indicators.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management in the manufacturing industry.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, etc.).
Experience with risk assessment and hazardous waste management.
Proven track record of successfully training employees in safety and compliance.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
