The
Cedarburg Art Museum (CAM)
celebrates the richness of Wisconsin’s art and artists through dynamic exhibitions, engaging programs, and meaningful community connections. Nestled in the heart of Cedarburg’s historic downtown, CAM welcomes more than 11,000 visitors each year and is celebrated for its creative energy, vibrant events, and dedicated volunteers.
We’re searching for a
visionary Executive Director
to guide the Museum into its next exciting chapter of growth and impact. The ideal candidate combines nonprofit or museum leadership experience with strategic and financial insight — and, above all, a genuine passion for art and community.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a visible ambassador for the Cedarburg Art Museum and advocate for the arts in Cedarburg and beyond.
Lead execution of the Museum’s strategic plan and guide organizational growth.
Oversee operations, exhibitions, events, and facilities with efficiency and creativity.
Strengthen fundraising and membership development, securing grants, sponsorships, and major gifts.
Build relationships with donors, artists, volunteers, businesses, and community partners.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that empowers staff and volunteers.
Qualifications
Passion for art, creativity, and connecting people through culture.
Proven success leading a an art museum or nonprofit cultural organization.
Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement.
Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Initial Priorities
Advance the Museum’s strategic plan to be a meaningful art museum in Wisconsin and long-term sustainability.
Build relationships and deepen community connections.
Launch a robust membership and fundraising campaign.
