Description The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to invite applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the assistant professor level in Engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University.

The Department of Engineering has an opening for a faculty member with a background in one of the undergraduate degree programs offered at Hofstra: Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.

The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the department’s ability to offer a top‑tier undergraduate educational experience to our students. Candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research—especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates—and show initiative in seeking external funding for research. Qualifications

PhD in Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.

Salary and Benefits Salary Range:

$100,000–$110,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we provide a collegial and inclusive culture and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
