Marketing Manager (Communications Consultant 4) Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating comprehensive marketing and branding campaigns that drive student enrollment, support retention, and increase public awareness of South Seattle College. Coordinates external and internal communications across publications, advertising, social media, and other marketing channels.

Location: South Seattle College main campus, West Seattle, Seattle. Requires occasional travel, evening, and weekend work. Hybrid remote/on‑site schedule.

Salary Range: $66,420 to $89,232 annually (DOE). Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

What You Will Be Working On

Marketing Develop and implement college‑wide marketing initiatives; conduct research and analyze outcomes; create recruitment and retention plans; coordinate advertising purchases; support the development of marketing materials.

Social Media Management Create, edit, and publish social media content; recommend new platforms; monitor engagement; maintain content calendars.

Website Management Revise web content for brand alignment; update Drupal CMS; analyze analytics; improve accessibility; collaborate with departments.

Miscellaneous Write feature articles; support media relations; serve as backup contact for the Director; handle administrative duties as assigned.

What You Bring As a Candidate

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field.

Two‑plus years of full‑time work experience in marketing, media relations, or public relations.

Creative thinking and proven results in marketing strategies.

Experience with advertising production, media buy negotiations, and marketing coordination.

Data analysis skills; social media experience; branding principles; CRM and CMS knowledge.

Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills with a culturally competent approach.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally serve as backup public information officer.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education.

Knowledge of the Seattle/King County media market.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva; photography/videography skills.

Branding enforcement experience; knowledge of advertising production and media buy negotiations.
