Description Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 185 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. What we do ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to Bronson Healthcare and Corewell Healthcare Systems.

Position Summary The Interventional & Diagnostic Radiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) working onsite at our partner hospitals in collaboration with both ARS interventional and diagnostic radiologists. Sites include various Bronson Healthcare locations as well as select Corewell Health locations. The APP will perform and interpret the results of various diagnostic studies and also perform therapeutic procedures. These include light interventional radiology (IR) procedures, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and musculoskeletal fluoroscopy procedures, and nuclear medicine injections. The APP will interpret and report on bone densitometry studies, after the required qualification and training is completed. The APP will also provide in-hospital IR directed patient care including pre‑procedural consultation and post procedural patient management. The patient population served span pediatric to geriatric patients. Daily responsibilities will vary by location, and may also vary based on the department’s needs. Travel to all locations will be shared amongst the group. Scope of practice may be expanded and will require additional training at the discretion of ARS and based on additional needs of the hospitals we serve.

Responsibilities

Provide IR directed patient care including pre and post‑procedural evaluations in a hospital environment in collaboration with IR attending(s). Provide appropriate patient and family education regarding treatment recommendations and recommendations for follow up care.

Additional daily duties in IR may include conducting outpatient IR clinic visits, responding to contrast reactions in the radiology department, performing procedures such as nuclear medicine injections with interpretation of results, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and lumbar punctures as needed.

Communicate and collaborate with other specialty services to provide comprehensive patient care.

Accurately and efficiently document consult and follow up notes in the EMR, and diagnostic radiology dictations in PACS.

Perform various fluoroscopic procedures to include but not limited to GI/GU fluoroscopy, lumbar punctures/myelograms, arthrograms, arthrocentesis, and pain injections, in collaboration with the diagnostic radiology attending(s).

Perform additional related duties as required.

Requirements

Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA); OR graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

Masters in Physician Assistant Studies or related field for PAs; OR Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice for NPs.

Board certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); OR board certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

BLS and ACLS certification is required by start of employment.

Michigan PA/NP licensure/certification.

1 year of inpatient rounding experience is required.

Prior experience in interventional and diagnostic radiology as an APP is preferred.

Prior experience in another procedural or surgical specialty as an APP is preferred.

For new graduates seeking to apply, any of the following experiences will be considered:

Background as a radiologic technologist or surgical technologist.

Background as an interventional radiology nurse.

Completion of an IR rotation during the clinical year of your educational program.

Schedule

Full time Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturday rounding shift.

Rotating week of travel shift, to cover outlying Bronson and Corewell Health sites.

Standard shift is 8 hours, day shift; travel time may extend certain shifts to a 9 or 10 hour day.

On call, rotating. Standard call shift is Monday 5p - Saturday 8a for weeknight coverage, and Saturday 8a - Monday 8a for weekend coverage.

Travel Requirements This position will share travel to all locations.
