Overview
The Department of Dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an academic inpatient and outpatient medical dermatologist with interests in patient care and teaching. Our department provides unique opportunities to practice and teach in the Medical Center on Longwood Medical Area and/or at our state‑of‑the‑art practices in Chestnut Hill and Needham. We provide equitable care for a diverse population representing Boston and its surrounding communities.
Responsibilities The inpatient portion covers 25% of total hospital‑based dermatology inpatient consultations at BIDMC.
Four half‑day morning clinical sessions per week.
Afternoons dedicated to consultations with the Harvard Combined dermatology resident team.
Non‑inpatient weeks supplemented with 2–3 afternoon clinic sessions per week.
Evening and weekend consultation coverage shared with other faculty members.
Provide training for Harvard students, fellows, and residents in the specialty of dermatology.
Qualifications
Board eligible or certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.
MD or MD‑PhD with excellent clinical skills.
Passion for teaching and working with trainees.
Strong interest in research is also encouraged.
Commitment to the values of an inclusive and academic environment.
Appointment as an Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities.
Compensation The compensation package includes an excellent base salary, an incentive program, and generous fringe benefits. Employment and benefits are provided by Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians.
