Shift Manager Operations Cleveland‑Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Operations at our Northshore Mining Company facility in Silver Bay, MN. The primary responsibility of this position is to direct and monitor the performance of the Operations crews associated with the Fine Crusher & Concentrator or the Pellet Plant, including direct supervision and leadership of the Operations workforce.

Summary Of Responsibilities

Be a champion of safety and environmental measures through interactions, safety meetings and by example.

Conduct weekly safety and information meetings within the area.

Coach, direct, and develop the work of operations technicians to meet and exceed safety and productivity goals.

Communicate operational plans and job assignments to all crew members.

Manage personnel performance, training, promotion reviews, scheduling, overtime, crew safety, and production meetings.

Coordinate weekly projects across departments to maximize results and minimize impacts on daily production.

Review and analyze critical process metrics with employees and follow through as necessary.

Report at daily operational meetings on department performance.

Document and investigate safety and environmental incidents; partner on corrective actions.

Ensure equipment and areas assigned to crews are maintained to standard.

Prioritize daily break‑in work for instruments, electrical, and mechanical with Maintenance Shift Managers and shift maintenance personnel.

Participate in, support, and lead business improvement efforts.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Vocational degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Previous successful leadership experience.

In-depth knowledge of, and ability to communicate and implement, safety, mine and MSHA rules, environmental policies and procedures.

Strong communication and leadership skills to direct operations and maintenance crew members effectively.

Ability to resolve conflict effectively and develop relationships of trust and respect with other employees.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Proven ability to plan and coordinate multiple work tasks with various employees, departments, and outside contractors.

Capable of making and implementing decisions efficiently and in a timely manner.

Ability to facilitate employee development through constructive feedback and continuous coaching.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000. Pay is based on education, qualifications, experience, skills, location, and business needs.
