Save Job

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI‑powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real‑time, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About PlatformOS The PlatformOS team is the foundational infrastructure and software backbone enabling engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate services at scale. We provide developer‑facing platforms such as core infra, workflow engine, service templates, CI/CD pipelines, observability, tooling, agent platform (LLMs + autonomous workflows) and guardrails. In this role you will help elevate PlatformOS from a strong engineering org to a truly enabling, scalable, platform‑led capability.

What You’ll Do

Define and lead the technical roadmap for PlatformOS that includes building core infrastructure, service templates, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, observability/monitoring, guardrails, agent platform, chat UI/LLM integration.

Architect, design and develop complex distributed services, tooling and APIs that empower other engineering teams to ship safely and quickly.

Integrate PlatformOS capabilities into a cohesive experience across product and platform teams and evolve data‑modeling strategies across multiple domains.

Co‑Lead the development of the agent platform: manage and host large‑language models (LLMs), build chat interfaces (OpenWebUI‑based), integrate autonomous workflows, and provide developer/self‑service tooling.

Partner with service teams across multiple product domains to understand their needs, remove friction, build consensus, and drive alignment.

Standardize and unify PlatformOS’s APIs under a cohesive, scalable platform API strategy. Own platform observability, product analytics frameworks, event streaming, schema registries and audit‑logging.

Lead by example. Apply modern software engineering practices (automated testing, blue/green/canary deployments, infrastructure as code, telemetry, reliability).

Mentor and coach engineers, establish shared ownership models (remove single points of failure), improve review practices, accelerate velocity while preserving correctness.

Influence engineering culture by promoting the “platform mindset” where teams are enabled rather than dependent, and tooling accelerates rather than bottlenecks.

Act as a senior technical leader within Anduril, collaborate with architecture, security, operations, infra, and business stakeholders.

What You Should Have (Required Qualifications)

12+ years of software engineering experience in a fast‑paced environment (startup or high‑velocity delivery context).

Hands‑on experience building production systems (expect to code ~30% of your time). We use Python and TypeScript.

Strong experience building platforms, infrastructure tooling or distributed services that support other engineering teams.

Proven experience in data modeling and API design across domains.

Familiarity building or integrating AI/agent systems, working with LLMs, conversational UI/UX, or autonomous workflows.

Excellent communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders, translate ambiguous requirements and build cross‑team alignment.

U.S. Person status (due to export‑control / DoD environment).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high‑scale distributed systems (multi‑region cloud or multi‑cluster), service‑oriented architecture.

Past experience building internal developer platforms, service templates, developer‑tooling portals or self‑service infrastructure.

Past experience in defense, autonomy, robotics, or mission‑critical systems (helpful but not required).

Culture fit: bias for action, low ego, able to make pragmatic trade‑offs in ambiguous/fast‑paced settings.
