Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to conduct repair and maintenance on heavy to light equipment, trucks, generators, and other mechanical equipment. The incumbent must be able to work varying shifts and long hours (8–12 hours), including weekends and extra hours as required by production needs. The role requires support of Orion’s guiding beliefs and core values, centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork, all rooted in Integrity.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with equipment and/or tools including hydraulic systems.
Disassembles motors or motor components to replace, clean, or perform maintenance.
Maintains electronic repair logs for each repair.
Performs welding repairs or fabrications in the shop or on jobsite.
Creates and maintains a safe and clean working environment per company rules and guidelines.
Works on pump truck equipment as needed.
Works well with others in high‑stress situations.
Performs other routine duties as outlined by supervisor.
Is responsible for the incumbent’s own personal safety.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision.
Wears proper PPE at all times.
Maintains confidentiality by not disclosing any confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information of the Company.

Is responsible for the incumbent’s personal safety.
Is responsible for the safety of all co‑workers and others encountered.
Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task whenever an unsafe condition is anticipated or observed.
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures and faces disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
Reports all violations of applicable laws, regulations, or company policies and procedures promptly and faces disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
Performs other related administrative and technical duties as may be assigned (e.g., certification training, safety training, procedure review).
Position Requirements
Five years related mechanic experience required.
CDL Class A or B is a plus.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to drive to jobsites on a daily basis.
Must have own tools.
Knowledge of 360 software preferred.
Computer skills preferred.
Extensive knowledge of gas, diesel, and electric–driven engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical schematics.
High level of analytical ability for project efficiency.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with others and to share skill set and knowledge as appropriate.
Physical/Mental Requirements
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. They must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, or other required equipment. They must identify critical issues, formulate action plans with all levels of management, and remain calm during emergencies, responding appropriately and evacuating the work area in a timely manner when necessary.
