Role Overview The client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Los Angeles (2 positions) and San Diego (1 position). This role is critical in managing and leading large-scale Type I structural projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, hospitality, and aviation.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and BIM designers, managing project schedules and budgets, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and consultants. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth, including a partnership track.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
Supervise project teams (engineers, BIM designers) and ensure successful project execution.
Work closely with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver cost-effective, innovative solutions.
Ensure compliance with building codes, seismic regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct technical design and detailing for large-scale structures.
Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Maintain strong client relationships and actively pursue new business opportunities.
Requirements Must-Have Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience.
SE License: Required.
Education: Master’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering (U.S. university required).
Technical Expertise
Experience in Type I construction (steel and concrete structures).
Experience with ground‑up construction (60–70%) and renovations (30–40%).
Familiarity with Mission Critical Facilities.
Proven ability to manage large-scale structural projects.
Leadership & Client Management
Ability to act as a strong, decisive leader and manage a team of engineers and designers.
Demonstrated track record of delivering successful projects and maintaining client relationships.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Experience working with DSA and HCA I/OSHPD.
Experience in seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings using ASCE 41.
