SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving products and production processes in all Camfil Americas manufacturing Plantsto ensure they are maintained and adequate to support the company’s business operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary for the position. Drive process improvement activities on the production floor
Develop and improve processes including methods and flow
Support and improve production tooling, fixtures, and equipment
Pursue and support cost reduction and sustainability initiatives
Support new product development projects and new product introduction projects
Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOP)
Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues
Manage project tasks and timelines to ensure successful completion
Create/revise drawings, part numbers, BOMs, and routings
Up to 30% travel may be required – domestically and possibly internationally
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred, degree in Engineering or technical discipline required.
1 – 4 years as a manufacturing engineer or similar technical role
Must have mechanical aptitude and high-level technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Must have solid foundation in knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Must possess project management skills.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities required.
Must be able to read and interpret technical documents such as drawings, schematic diagrams, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Advanced skills in mathematics and statistics required.
Ability to reason through comparison, classification, analytics, coordination and innovation.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
PMP Certification preferred.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to speak English effectively to management and employees of organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
