Position Position Overview As a Manufacturing Technician at NOGJ in Jonesborough, you will perform a variety of duties within the Operations department and will support various programs across the site. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor. The role may require working any shift as dictated by production requirements and will be designated as a 2nd or 3rd shift position with overtime, weekends and 10 to 12 hour days as needed. Location: Jonesborough, Tennessee Your Day To Day As a Manufacturing Technician Operate and set up various machinery and shop equipment including but not limited to manual lathes, engravers, presses, mills, furnaces, automated welding, forging machines, swagers, painting booths, engine lathes and equipment used in disassembly of projectiles (demil). Utilize and read inspection gaging equipment including micrometers, calipers, comparators, shadow graphs, indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Operate inspection equipment and inspect product in-process and post-process. Screen product lots and read/interpret blueprints and drawings. Fabricate quality product to customer specifications; maintain count and traceability of parts including tagging rejected parts; perform rework as necessary. Conduct advanced data collection, analysis and reporting activities; collect, analyze and utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) data. Assist with troubleshooting processes and provide escalation/feedback to appropriate personnel. Complete and maintain daily production reports and records; maintain a clean and neat workspace. Perform preventive maintenance activities; communicate daily process status to the next shift; report abnormalities related to production, maintenance, safety or quality to supervisor. Transport materials to and from operations; operate a tow motor and/or forklift; load and unload parts/blanks. Wear a respirator in the performance of normal duties, as required; perform duties in various areas of the facility to support production. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or an associate degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Prior experience should be in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Ability to interface effectively within Operations and with support groups such as Maintenance, Quality and Engineering. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment; 10+ hour shifts; any shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd); overtime and/or weekends as needed. Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) is between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, based on local job market factors and other considerations. The total compensation package may include other benefits. Employment is at-will unless covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
