POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Dietitian -

Cancer Center . In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing optimum nutritional care to Perlmutter Cancer Center patients across the continuum of the cancer experience through nutrition screening, assessment, support, counseling, metabolic monitoring, and medical team communication. Reports to the Clinical Nutrition Manager and/or Director- Outpatient Infusion, Senior Director- Outpatient Oncology. Act as an ambassador for PCC Nutrition Services while delivering world class care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.

Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.

Other duties assigned by management and/or deemed past practice.

Provides assistance and contributes new ideas to the department.

Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.

Documents and/or updates appropriately in patients EMR and nutrition logs.

Plans work assignments accordantly and utilizes time effectively.

Accepts and completes nutrition referrals for PCC patients from PCC patients, patient family, and healthcare providers

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as appropriate and develop nutrition education and resource materials as needed.

Functions as a resource person to the healthcare team regarding the nutritional management of patients.

Participates in internship preceptorship and new staff onboarding.

Engages in self-assessment and participates in activities to promote own professional growth and development.

Participates in NYULH programs and in patient satisfaction initiatives, including team rounding.

Assesses patient's nutritional status/risk effectively and provides nutrition recommendations accordingly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Sciences or a related major. Successful completion of a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) 1200 hour dietetic internship program with emphasis on clinical applications. Registered Dietitian (RD). Successful completion of the RD exam approved though the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR -the credentialing Agency for ADA) - must be obtained within the first six months of employment. Certified Dietitian/ Nutritionist (CDN) Must be obtained within 1 year of hire date. Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. PREFERRED LICENSES: Registered Dietitian

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $53,457.10 - $80,369.70 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
