Position Summary:
The Receptionist with CNA credentials is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the front desk while supporting basic resident care as permitted by certification. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and residents while ensuring a welcome, organize, and professional environment. The role combines administrative duties with occasional clinical support.
Front Desk & Administrative Duties
Greet and assist visitors, residents, families, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly using a multi-line phone system.
Maintain visitor logs and ensure compliance with facility security procedures.
Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and data entry.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Provide general information and support to staff and residents as needed.
Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating transportation, or updating calendars as directed.
CNA-Related Support Duties
(Performed only as allowed under facility policy and certification)
Assist nursing staff with non-invasive resident needs when necessary.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
Provide basic support such as answering call bells, delivering supplies, or transporting residents by wheelchair.
Observe residents and report any concerns or changes in condition to nursing staff immediately.
Support the nursing team during high-volume periods in accordance with CNA scope of practice.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.
Previous receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain professionalism.
Proficiency with computers, email, and basic office equipment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods.
Ability to assist residents with mobility or transport as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced healthcare or long-term care facility setting.
Frequent interaction with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
