Requirements

Education

– Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduate from an AMA‑approved school

Licenses and Certifications

– ARRT‑CT, licensed by Texas Medical Board as a medical radiologic technologist, Basic Life Support certification (AHA or ARC)

Ability to lift 40‑50 lbs

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Job Duties

Review physician orders, screen patients for allergies and contraindications, and ensure accurate CT protocols.

Communicate with radiologists regarding stat/urgent findings and document changes in the electronic health record.

Perform patient screening, obtain medical history, explain procedures, and administer oral/IV contrast when indicated.

Conduct CT examinations, adhering to ALARA principles and patient safety.

Perform quality control testing and report issues to service engineers, physicists, and leadership.

Maintain QA compliance with ACR requirements and participate in accreditation processes.

Respond to inquiries, coordinate hand‑offs, and engage in equitable workload distribution.

Assist in orientation and training of new hires and students.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with other service lines.

Prioritize exams to minimize wait times and address stat requests.

Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory compliance, infection control, and fiscal responsibilities.

Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and secure all workstations.

Security This position is security‑sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
