General Summary Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager of Fitness, the Pilates Instructor evaluates clients and delivers safe, professional, and creative exercise routines tailored to client fitness goals. This position includes private instruction, group mat, and reformer classes, and requires achievement of revenue and session goals while providing the highest level of customer service and hospitality to members, guests, and associates.

Primary Job Functions
Maintain an average of a minimum of 20 paid service hours per month
Provide top‑quality safe, creative, inviting, and encouraging private Pilates instruction, alongside group mat and reformer classes; develop and deliver individualized exercise programs based on client abilities, health, and goals
Conduct thorough fitness consultations and Pilates‑based evaluations
Recruit and retain Pilates training clients
Assist in the development, implementation, and marketing of innovative private and small‑group training programs
Maintain accurate, current records on all client exercise programs and progress
Conduct new member orientations, including instruction on proper use of Pilates equipment; offer assistance to members and guests
Complete and submit work‑log sheets, accurately process payroll, sales, and redemptions daily
Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the Pilates studio and club; enforce studio and club policies
Actively participate in events, programs, meetings, and training
Represent the club professionally through image, dress, communication, and prompt follow‑through and response
Schedule varies and may require weekend, holiday, day, and evening hours
Maintain valid Pilates and CPR/AED certification
Corporate Goals & Objectives
Promote the company’s safety goals and actively work to ensure a safe working environment
Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Actively further corporate objectives and continuously support improvement and positive change
Make professional development a consistent priority

Skills & Knowledge
Sales and Marketing – knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services, including marketing strategy, tactics, and sales techniques
Problem Anticipation / Deductive Reasoning – ability to identify potential issues and apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical conclusions
Written Comprehension and Expression – ability to read, understand, and communicate information and ideas in writing
Oral Comprehension and Expression – ability to understand and communicate with others effectively
Computer – ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel, and other required software; create tracking and report forms as needed
Well organized and detail oriented
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent customer service attitude and abilities
Experience & Education
PMA, Stott, Polestar, or Peak Pilates trained and certified
Current CPR/AED certifications
Minimum two (2) years fitness industry experience; Pilates, dance, performance art, or sports background preferred
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Regular contact with clients via in‑person, phone, and email
Location changes frequently from indoors to outdoors; no extreme environmental conditions
Address difficult or angry people with problem‑solving skills
Adapt to a frequently changing environment
Sitting and standing as needed
Use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with arms
Occasional lift or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment
Travel independently to property locations on a regular basis
