Director, Account Management – Insurance & Healthcare
PayPal is seeking an experienced leader in the insurance and healthcare sectors to drive growth and build strategic relationships. The role reports to the VP of Large Enterprise and will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations. Responsibilities
Define and execute growth strategy for the Healthcare and Insurance vertical, aligning with PayPal’s long‑term objectives. Deeply understand regulatory environments (HIPAA, insurance regulations) and enterprise client needs. Lead and coach a high‑performing team of Account Managers and Business Development professionals. Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with key merchants and foster partnership opportunities. Oversee negotiation of complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with internal policies. Monitor portfolio performance, driving revenue retention, cross‑sell, and expansion while managing risk. Champion operational excellence for onboarding, integration, and support of large strategic accounts. Develop account strategies tailored to vertical dynamics and identify merchant pain points. Lead renewal and churn mitigation initiatives for complex accounts. Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across deal cycles. Advocate for merchant needs and influence product development through industry insights. Qualifications
10+ years in payments, e‑commerce, or fintech, with 5+ years of leadership experience in highly regulated verticals. Proven track record of closing $100M+ multi‑product commercial deals with C‑suite stakeholders. Experience managing dynamic pricing schemes and real‑time data platforms. Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills. Data‑driven, analytical thinker with a strategic mindset. Proficient in CRM tools such as Salesforce for pipeline management and forecasting. Experience with HIPAA, state/federal insurance regulation, and procurement processes. $270,000 – $464,200
